As part of our social projects, we have managed to implement Qurbani 2009 (1430 H) in three different parts of Indonesia. We received donation from 62 persons in the UK, mostly Indonesian Muslims. Fifty six persons donated £70.oo each that made a total of £3,920.oo; two persons donated £160.oo (at £80 each); and four person donated £336.oo (at £84 each). Total donation for this project is £4,416.oo (four thousands four hundreds and sixteen pounds). Six persons had to pay more because of last minute entry that saw the price of livestock went up.
In all, we bought 9 (nine) cows and 1 (one) sheep. Out of 9 cows, 7 were slaughtered in earthquake-affected areas in the Province of West Sumatra (Sumatra Barat). One cow and one sheep were slaughtered in earthquake-affected area of Tasikmalaya in the Island of Java, whereas one cow was slaughtered in Denpasar (the capital of Bali Province).
Total recipient of meat from all of those slaughtered livestock is more than 750 families (households).
This is Cow No. 1; slaughtered in the village of Batu Kambing, Kecamatan (sub-district of) Empat Nagari, District of (Kabupaten) Agam, on Saturday, 28th November 2009.
Meat of this Cow No. 2 was donated to the poor in Dadok Village, Kecamatan (sub-district) Sungai Geringging, Kabupaten (district of) Padang Pariaman, West Sumatra Province.
Cow No. 3 was slaughtered in Pinang Village, Kecamatan (sub-district of) Empat Koto, Kabupaten (district of) Padang Pariaman, the Province of West Sumatra, on 29th Nov. 2009.
Cow No. 4 was slaughtered in the Village of Manggapoh, Kecamatan (sub-district of) Lubuk Bssung, Kabupaten (district of) Agam, West Sumatra Province, on 28th Nov. 2009.
Cow No. 5 was slaughtered in the Village of Muaro, Kecamatan (sub-district of) Lubuk Basung, Kabupaten (district of) Agam, West Sumatra Province, on 29th Nov. 2009.
Cow No. 6 was slaughtered in Koto Kaciak Village, Kecamatan (sub-district of) Tanjungraya, Kabupaten (district of) Agam, West Sumatra Province, on 30th Nov. 2009.
Cow No. 7 was slaughtered in the Village of Bawan, Kecamatan (sub-district of) Empat Nagaeri, Kabupaten (district of) Agam, West Sumatera Province, on 30th Nov. 2009.
Cow No. 8; slaughtered in an earthwuake-affected area just outside of the city of Tasikmalaya in the Province of West Java, on 28th Nov. 2009.
The only sheep for this year Qurbani Project was donated to the people at a village in Tasikmalaya, West Java Province. It was slaughtered on the Eid Day, 27th Nov. 2009.
This is Cow No. 9 –slaughtered in Denpasar, the capital of the Island of Bali.
